After you have sent your form to Washington Lodge for consideration we will appoint a comitee to
contact your references and eventually call your in for an interview. We at Washington Lodge #3 pride
ourselves on being the best of the best. Come to your interview ready like you were applying to a new
job.
Here are some hints for a successful interview:
Be prepared. Have a general idea of what Masonry is about and a little history wouldn't hurt either.
Be ready to talk. You will talk to at least three people who will want to know all about you. Be friendly and forthwright. If you feel a question is "out of line" or inappropriate tell the interviewer so. Unlike a job interview we are all friends here and just curious about who you are.
Dress appropriately. Dress shirt, slacks and tie are a must. If you have a suit, wear it.
Be on time. Find out what time you are to be at Lodge and be there at least 5 - 10 minutes early.
After the interview the Lodge will vote on your membership. If accepted you will recieve a call informing you of when to come to Lodge for initiation.
Now the interesting stuff begins. You will be entering the oldest and largest fraternity in the world. You will see new sites and be
exposed to new ideas. Initiation will be during a Lodge night where you will come to the Lodge just like all the other members. Dress code for
Lodge is always a suit and tie. After the initiation you will be invited to join us for our usual after Lodge dinner and your journey in Masonry
will be well on its way.
